New Feature! Add Custom Content on Your Contact Page!

Thanks to some great feedback and ideas from the Photostockplus community, we have added yet another feature to our system this week giving you even more control and customization options for your Photostockplus storefront!

Add Custom Content to Your Contact Page!

Have specific business hours? Want to provide your visitors with additional ways to get a hold of you? Want to tell the world where your business is located? Whatever it is, you can now add content to your heart’s desire on to your contact page.

How to Add Content to Your Contact Page?

Once logged in to your Photostockplus account, click on the ‘Customize Website’ found below the ‘Marketing Tools’ section. Scroll down to the ‘Contact Page Content:’ and start adding that content. It’s just that easy!

HTML and Flash Compatible!

The newly added ‘Contact Page Content’ field provides you with the same flexibility as your Header and other Content fields which accepts complete text formatting, HTML coding and even flash.

We recommend all users to take a few minutes to set up additional contact page content. It’s a well invested 5 minutes to possibly provide a much more positive user experience for those clients who prefer calling in or sending an email directly with questions rather than using a contact form.

Customize your “Main Site” link

 

You can now customize the “Main Site” button on your site to link to another webpage. This can be useful if you are using your own URL to promote your business. The “Main Site” Link appears in Groups or in Events were you set the “Include link to Main Site” option while creating an event. To change the default link which is your photostockplus.com gallery you can visit the “Admin’ Section and the click “Customize Website” under the “My Account” tab. You will then see the Custom "Main Site" link: Simply change the URL here and then scroll to the bottom and hit “Update Website”

“Home” button links on gallery update.

Well… we have been talking about this for some time. Because photstockplus.com allows you to have a Main Gallery site, Groups, Sub-Groups, Event and Sub Events we feel that the “Home” button is something that is not completely clear.

 

As it stands, when you are in an Event or Group there is a “Home” Button that brings you back to the Events home page (not your main site). You can decide to include a link back to your Main Site within events by ticking the box next to “Include link back to homepage” when setting up the event. If you do not do so people can not get back to your main site. Some people prefer to keep their events or groups as independent entities.  If you do tick the link to home page option the link shows up in the form of a text link at the top of the site saying “Return to home page”. We still have a link at the top left of site saying “Home” which brings you to the same events home. Confused?

 

In order to make things clearer… we have decide to change the link that appears in the top left of all your galleries to say “Gallery Home”

 

If you decide to include a link back to your home page when setting up an event or if you have it set that way by default it will add a button at the top left above “Gallery Home” that will read “Main Site”

 

We feel this is more descriptive and easier for people to understand. Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Reporting Tool Update

We have modified the way we show events in the Reporting Tool.
Volume shooters will find it much easier to find Events now. Simply login and visit the “Admin” section. You will find a link to “Reporting Tool” on the right side under the “My Account” tab. Groups are now identified as (Group) and Sub Folders are listed below.

 

We have also added the ability to report by “Groups”
The Group reporting will only show the Events listed in the Group but will also report on the sub Events if those Events have Subs within them. It will not report on any Sub Groups. You can simply run those individually if detail is needed. Of course you can still run overall reports at any time with the date range reporting by selecting “All Events” in the drop down menu. We simply added this extra step of reporting for those that are using Groups rather than Sub Events to organize galleries.

New Photostockplus Photoloader – It’s Here!

We are committed to saving you time with your photography business and are proud to share with you the all new Photostockplus Photoloader tool!
It’s faster, more robust, can upload over 3,000 images an hour and now incorporates these great new additions:

Drag and Drop
It is now easier than ever to upload images using the Photoloader tool with its new drag and drop capabilities. Simply open the Photoloader tool and drag a folder from your computer containing the images you wish to upload into the main window of the tool. An album will be automatically created in the location you choose using the name of the folder. Thumbnails will start generating and all you’re left to do is hit the “Start Upload” button!
This feature is great for event photographers shooting multiple events as you will now be able to drag multiple folders at once, automatically creating an album hierarchy in seconds!
 
Default Event Album Settings
You can now set default event album settings which will be applied automatically to newly created event albums. This is particularly useful for event photographers using the newly added drag and drop feature of the Photoloader tool as this will apply your settings to each newly created event album! Simply head on over to your “Customize Website” section and set those defaults!

New Maximum File Size
You wanted it so here it is. We have increased the maximum image file size from 12 Megs to 20 Megs!

Multiple User Upload
For users with multiple Photoloader accounts, you may now have multiple users upload their images with the Photoloader tool to one central account at the same time, eliminating the need to coordinate uploading!

Mac Photoloader Tool
We have now added the same speed, functionality, and newly added features from the PC version of the tool to the Mac platform so you can expect a smoother and exponentially faster Mac Photoloader tool!

We have some nice surprise update features planned for the coming months

Things that are close to launch include expiring events and custom shipping increments for self fulfill products. We also have a nifty marketing initiative coming with the ability to change price groups on a time line so you can run specials for limited times.

i.e “Save 30% on all photos if you buy before ______”

Facebook/Twitter sharing widget

Enhanced SEO features and Meta tagging for Gold members

Default setting enhancments

As many of you know marketing has always been a strong part of our product offering. In recent years social media has become popular with even the biggest brands. Platforms such as Facebook and Twitter have gained steam as legitimate brand building marketing tools for businesses. If you are not already looking at these platforms to help grow your business, we strongly recommend that you do. We have had many inquiries about people looking for an effective way to enable sharing on these sites in a way that helps them promote their business.

Announcing our new Facebook/twitter sharing widget
In an effort to help our clients brand themselves and benefit from word of mouth and referral marketing, we are launching a new Facebook/Twitter sharing widget on the site that will facilitate promotion of your images. We will be adding Facebook/Twitter share buttons to your site that will enable people to post links to your gallery on their personal or business Facebook/Twitter pages. When someone posts a link on their Facebook or Twitter network it is then broadcast to all their friends and contacts. Those friends may re post or “like” the post as well. All of this leads to more promotion for you.

By default, we will be adding these buttons to all galleries next week when we go live with these features.

If for some reason you prefer to turn the sharing buttons off, please send us an email request with your user name. Alternately you can visit the “Admin” section of the site once we are live next week and click “Customize Website” and then the “General” tab listed on the top of the page. Scroll down to where it says “Enable Facebook/Twitter sharing” and un tick the box.

Customized link appearance
You may also customize Facebook links to include a small thumbnail of the photo on the page being shared. If you prefer you can make it show your storefront logo or you can decide not to show a logo or picture preview at all and just present a link back to your gallery.

Allowing people to link back to your galleries is an amazing way to have people who see your work promote your galleries. It will also help you in terms of having back links directing to your site which will also help your search engine rankings.

Search engine optimization and Meta data control for Gold members. We have also added the ability for Gold account members to change their Meta-data on Event and Stock albums. This means that you will be able to change the title, description and keywords that a search engine reads for all of your albums allowing you to build stronger search engine popularity which in turn leads to more traffic for your site and images. As many of you know photostockplus.com does offer a search engine optimization package where we have experts analyze your site and submit it to search engines. You can find out more about Search Engine Optimization on our services page when logged into the site or by calling our office.

Default settings
We have improved the way our default settings work and are now allowing you to customize these on a defaults page that is located in the customize storefront link in the admin. Once you are in the “Customize Website” page you will have a link on top for “Default Event Settings”. This will allow you to set defaults to your events making for a smoother workflow for volume shooters.
