Custom event specific welcome note (create unique marketing incentives)

Introducing the ability to add an event specific welcome note

If you are using our event email login feature and we certainly recommend you do… you already are building an email list and foundation to market your galleries. Aside from any marketing automation emails you have set to the email collection feature we always send an initial email to the registering user. That email includes a link to your gallery and details of any current promotions you are running. The new Welcome note feature makes is possible to add a custom note to that initial email. You may even want to add a custom coupon that ties in with a current promotion.

Prompt clients at events to visit your online galleries
What's fun about this is you can prompt clients at onsite events to login online to get an early bird special offer. This provides incentive for your clients to find the online gallery and coupled with getting images online quickly, is a surefire way to increase sales.

Easy activation

In order to activate a unique message on your event all you need to do is login to the event and hit "Edit". Scroll all the way to the bottom of the event and look for the following "Welcome Note"  field. You can add text and or include coupon codes here as well. The email is sent as soon as clients log into your gallery. Using this in conjunction with our new QR code generator is a great way to have clients get to your galleries early and receive further updates you might have in your marketing actions.

Welcome note on events

Promote your events while the emotions are high!

The faster you post, the faster your clients view, the more sales you get from each event.

New Copyright Notice and acceptance Feature
copyright terms smaller

Customizable Copyright Notice before viewing galleries

We have a new feature that enables you to create a custom copyright notice that is shown to clients before entering your gallery. Clients can be prompted to accept the terms in order to view your gallery. Image theft can be innocent but it is most likely worthwhile to let people know that your living depends on their purchases.

Since the United States joined the Berne Convention, effective March 1, 1989, no formal notice requirement or © is mandatory for works to be protected under U.S. law. While technically U.S. law no longer requires the use of a copyright notice, there are benefits for doing so. Use of a copyright puts everyone on notice that a work is protected by copyright. If your work is infringed, if the work carries a proper notice, it’s very hard for that person to claim that they didn’t know the work was protected copyright.

The copyright notice generally consists of three elements:

  1. The symbol © (the letter C in a circle), or the word "Copyright" or the abbreviation "Copr.";
  2. The year of first publication of the work; and
  3. The name of the owner of copyright in the work.
Example: © 2001- 2020 Johnny Photographer

Example copyright notice

All images on this site are protected by U.S. copyright laws and are the property of ___________.  All rights are reserved.

You are respectfully reminded that any unauthorized copying of these images is a criminal offense.
Our photography equipment and time are very valuable. We make a living Selling pictures, not Taking pictures. Please enjoy viewing the images here but do not copy or reproduce any images by any means without a purchase or written permission.

Please respect our work and the law. We pursue copyright theft violations.
Copyright 2007-2020 John Doe – All Rights Reserved

Additional text possibility

The copyright owner, under certain circumstances, may elect statutory damages that permit a court to award damages from $750 up to $30,000, per work and increase the amount of damages up to $150,000 if willful infringement is found.

Please contact our customer support if you would like to have a custom copyright message set up for your site. We can add any text you like.

~ Did you know that any photograph created on or after January 1, 1978 is protected for the life of the author, plus 70 years. Works made for held by corporations or made for hire, anonymous & pseudonymous works are protected for 95 years from publication, or 120 from creation, whichever is shorter.

~ You should always add copyright info to your photos. You can do this by default in most cameras and this prevents your photos from potentially becoming orphan works. It's a good practice to maintain.

~ The moment you capture a photo that image is instantly copyrighted with you as the rightful owner. However, there are benefits to formally registering your work with the United States Copyright Office. Detailed information on frequently asked questions on registering your photos can be found on the Copyright Office’s website

If you would like to review the copyright notices on our site as well as copyrights that people agree to when purchasing digital images you can do so here

As always please reach out to us if you would like to discuss this feature or other ideas you have to help improve the site.

QR Code Generator (No touch Link to gallery from phones and portable devices)

Online galleries are the perfect no touch environment for clients that are being extra careful due to Covid concerns and it still want to order photos. Getting images online quickly is easy with our fast uploading, auto uploader when on location. Getting clients to find those galleries has never been easier.

Our new QR code creator feature allows you to create and print out a unique QR code that clients can easily read with their phone or portable device in order to be directed to your photo galleries. The process is quick and efficient and makes respecting social distancing a breeze. You can print large QR codes on posters and make them accessible from a good distance for clients who really don't want to come close to people. Making a no touch environment that still allows you to push sales in a creative and fun way.

A QR Code is a two-dimensional version of the barcode. QR stands for "Quick Response", which refers to the instant access to the information hidden in the Code.

QRCode

Newer iOS and Android smartphones have an in-built QR Code scanners in their native camera app feature that makes it the easiest way to scan a QR Code without downloading a third-party app. For those on older phones Barcode Scanner is widely considered to be the best barcode scanner for iPhone and can be downloaded at the app store here

Kaspersky’s QR code reader and scanner

Is a good option that works on both IOS devices and Android devices and the mobile app is available on both App Store and Google Play Store

Creating your QR code is as easy as logging into your event and clicking the “get QR code” link in the event.

Lab Alternative – Gov Grants to keep you rolling

Hi,

wanted to do a quick follow up during this difficult time and provide some links to small business stimulus options. I have also posted my email from March 23rd below in case it was missed. Things are pretty crazy right now, but It is important to stay abreast of government programs and assistance that may be available to you. Its also important to maintain your website and be responsive to clients needs. We will get through this and how we conduct ourselves at this time may play a powerful role on how our clients interact with us in the future.

The labs are currently not shipping orders, so you should be setting up self fulfill or digital download options.

It is important to make this switch now, as the labs are currently not able to remain active due to virus concerns and we are not sure when they will be able to start shipping physical products again. If you need help changing price groups or setting up a self fulfillment line please reach back to me. It's pretty straight forward to setup a new pricing group in the admin section with the  "Pricing" link in the blue left menu when logged in and then "Album Pricing" and switch to the new price group. Note that we do have bulk pricing for multi image downloads and this is a great way to incentivize larger digital download orders.

We are continuing to explore marketing opportunities

Many of our clients are running discount mailers for old digital files and seeing a flow of orders coming in. Right now people are home and are still engaging online. There is still money to be made. You can easily export emails from our backend in order to run mass mailers with companies like Mail chimp. They actually run free programs for list of under 2000 names. It's also a great time to work on marketing, design updates, social media, website text, automated email follow up strategies etc. I'll be sending more emails to elaborate on these ideas.

You need to plant seeds and continue your marketing
On our side we are working on an internal mass mailer program that we hope to be able to complete so you don't need to outsource your mass mailing down the road. It will have some really cool integrated functions that will make marketing a breeze.

Government loans and grants to look at:

Paycheck Protection Program
Independent Photographers and small businesses. The pay check protection program probably applies to you. Make sure you take advantage of it. The loan will be fully forgiven if the funds are used for payroll costs, interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities (due to likely high subscription, at least 75% of the forgiven amount must have been used for payroll). Loan payments will also be deferred for six months. No collateral or personal guarantees are required. Neither the government nor lenders will charge small businesses any fees.

$10,000 emergency grant – no obligation to repay the grant
In general, all of the following entities that have suffered substantial economic injury caused by a disaster provided they were in existence on January 31, 2020: Businesses with fewer than 500 employeesCooperatives, ESOPs, and tribal small businesses with fewer than 500 employeesSole proprietorsindependent contractorsMost private nonprofits

Please feel free to email me back to share any ideas, opportunities or concerns that we can address.

Corona virus update – An important message to our high valued clients

An important message to our high valued clients,

The Corona virus is creating a new reality for all of us very quickly.

We have just been informed that our third party core lab is closed as of today until April 3rd and possibly longer.

We have options. Many of you already use our self fulfill platform and alternatively a full digital program can be put in place.

If you are using our partner lab, we urge you to implement a temporary new price group for digital and self fulfill products only. The world is going more digital and we already have many clients who have been successfully running pure digital delivery models.

Our core team has been working remotely together for over 15 years now and are available to assist you. If you want to discuss mailer strategies or need help implementing the digital pricing, please reach out to us. Clearly events are mostly shut down now but digital buying is still happening and some of our clients have already started doing marketing mailers and are seeing orders come in.

Going forward our thoughts are on putting together plans to help us come back stronger to help make up for lost gains. Many of you will likely have time to work on marketing concepts that may include how to bring in new business, how to maximize on current business and how to improve over all. Improving marketing and promotion services to allow for a market edge when the time comes. We like to hope it will be weeks ahead, but months are seeming more likely.

We have an entirely new email platform in development that will allow an amazing amount of power to our users. Feel free to reach out directly to me with this email and we can schedule a call if you would like to help in development. I am happy to discuss ideas you have and how we can maintain a competitive advantage when things come back to normal.

In the meantime stay safe. Stay positive and stay hopeful for a speedy recovery for all.

Die cut wallets and reduced pricing

Photostockplus.com is pleased to present a new line of dye cut wallets in time for the Senior Season. The new dye cut images are delivered in sets of 8 on pre cut 8X10 sheets. Individual images pop out with ease to deliver a 2.38X3.38 image with rounded corners. Your cost for 8 Dye cuts is $2.99 for Pro color corrected prints and $2.79 for non color corrected prints.

* In order to begin selling the new dye cuts simply add them to your price groups and set your markups.

The old wallets are a separate product that is still available. Due to savings seen with our new supplier we have reduced the pricing on the regular uncut wallets that come in packs of 4. They will now be $1.39 and $1.19 respectively as opposed to the $1.99 and $1.79 pricing that was in place before. The price change will affect your final prices and will change the final price of any packages you may offer that include them. If you need to keep your final prices the same, we recommend you login and raise the price of your markup with the equivalent amount of savings to maintain the same price for your clients.

We hope the savings and new product will help with the success of your senior photo sales and we wish you a great season!
