Cache Feature for PC

The Photostockplus Photoloader allows you to minimize the amount of online space your photos will occupy when uploaded to event albums by uploading thumbnail versions of your event images and prompting you to upload the full size image only when an order is placed. By default, the uploader tool creates a cache folder and saves a copy of these full size images onto your hard drive in the following location:

My Documents/PhotoStockPlus Uploader Tool/Cache/Photostockplus.com/user name

When an order is made which requires the full sized event image, the Photoloader prompts you to upload the file to fulfill the order. As its primary search method, the tool will automatically look in the cache folder to locate these images.

After the Photoloader’s version update on May 7th, 2006, an extra precaution was added. For each uploaded image, its original file name and path from which the file has been uploaded from saves automatically.

The tool uses this information as a secondary search method to locate your images for upload. While the cache feature makes for an extra protection on your photos giving the tool two ways to find the image files, this can also mean having your images take up double the disk space to keep the cache folder updated with every uploaded event photo since images will now be stored in their original location and the cache folder.

We recommend leaving the Photoloader at its default letting it create the cache folder however you may disable the feature if desired and enable it at a later time.

If the cache feature has been disabled and the image files have been relocated, renamed, or deleted from their original location, the tool will not be able to locate them automatically.

When you are prompted to upload the images after an order is placed, a new window will open for each image asking you to locate the files manually by giving you the thumbnail version.

The tool can not recognizing if the images you select match the thumbnail. If an error is made matching the files manually, the order will be placed with the wrong image. Note: If you are a MAC user, please visit the Photoloader for MAC section.
